ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) Continuous heavy rainfall over the past two days has triggered flash flooding in several surrounding areas of Abbottabad city, disrupting daily life and exposing weaknesses in the drainage infrastructure.

The intense downpour has led to choked drainage systems at multiple places.

The situation worsened as key routes, including the main Mansehra Road, were partially blocked due to accumulated rainwater and debris, resulting in traffic disruptions and inconvenience for commuters.

In response, the district administration has put all relevant departments on high alert.

The Cantonment board, WASA, Rescue 1122, and revenue staff have been directed to ensure continuous monitoring of drainage system and water flow. Emergency measures are underway to clear choke points and restore smooth drainage to prevent further flooding.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious and immediately report any rain-related incidents or damage to the District Control Room.

District Control Room Abbottabad: 0992-9310553, Rescue Emergency Services: 1122 Officials have assured that all possible steps are being taken to manage the situation and minimise risks to public safety.
