Heatwave awareness campaign reviewed in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon chaired a meeting at the AC Office regarding preventive measures against heatwave and heatstroke.

According to official sources, the meeting was attended by (DO) Information Usman Sandhu, (DDO) Health Dr. Usman Naeem, DD Local Government Naveed Haider, Deputy Director Agriculture Azhar Attari and other relevant officers.

During the meeting, instructions were issued to enhance public awareness campaigns, educate citizens about precautionary measures and strengthen coordination among relevant departments in view of the prevailing hot weather and possible heatwave conditions.

Dr Usman Naeem briefed the participants on symptoms of heatstroke, first aid and preventive measures, advising citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, increase water intake and take special care of children and elderly people.

The assistant commissioner directed the concerned departments to make awareness activities more effective in public places, markets and rural areas to protect citizens from the adverse effects of extreme heat.
