Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2026) District Health Officer (DHO) Dera Ismail Khan, Syed Muhammad Mehsud, said on Saturday that the district health department had taken emergency medical measures to tackle the ongoing heatwave and any possible flood situation by ensuring timely and free healthcare services for the public.
Talking to APP, the DHO said a special medical camp had been established in Kulachi tehsil in view of the potential flood risk, where residents were being provided with free medical treatment, essential medicines and other healthcare facilities.
He said that to provide immediate medical assistance to people affected by the extreme heat, three special medical camps had also been set up at Imamia Gate, Kotli Imam Hussain and the Daewoo Bus Terminal in Dera Ismail Khan.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Syed Muhammad Mehsud said citizens visiting these camps were being examined free of cost, provided with essential medicines and offered basic diagnostic tests on the spot.
He added that the camps were being managed by the district health department's own medical staff, while Rescue 1122 was extending support by providing ambulances and transportation facilities.
The DHO reaffirmed that the district health department was utilizing all available resources to ensure the timely provision of quality and free medical services to the public during the prevailing emergency conditions.
