Hazara Police implement robust security, traffic measures for Eid-ul-Fitr

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Mar, 2026) On the second day of joyous occasion of Eid UL fitr, Hazara Police, in collaboration with district administrations, have made comprehensive special security and traffic arrangements as a large number of tourist rushed to Galyat, Kahghan and Naran.

These measures aim to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for resident sand the large influx of tourists expected in the scenic Hazara region, particularly in Abbottabad and Mansehra districts.

The Hazara Division, known for its picturesque tourist spots such as the Galiyat areas, Naran, Kaghan, Nathia Gali, and Murree-linked routes, attracts thousands of visitors during Eid holidays. Recognizing this, authorities have prioritized foolproof security at mosques, Eidgahs, markets, picnic spots, and major highways to prevent any untoward incidents while facilitating smooth movement.

According to police sources, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hazara, Nasir Mahmood Satti have deployed over 10,000 police personnel across the eight districts of the Hazara region.

This includes operational staff, traffic wardens, Elite Force, Special Service Unit (SSU), lady police officers, Special Branch, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) teams.

A dedicated traffic management plan has been activated to handle the expected surge in vehicles, especially on key routes like the Karakoram Highway (KKH). Traffic police have implemented lane bifurcations with barricades from Havelian to Abbottabad, extending to Mansehra and beyond, to manage rush-hour congestion and ensure smooth flow. Vehicles entering the region are subject to thorough yet courteous checks to maintain security without causing unnecessary delays or harassment.

District administrations, including in Abbottabad, have enforced strict measures under Section 144, banning aerial firing, fireworks, and other risky activities during Chand Raat and Eid days.

Enhanced patrolling in bazaars, parks, and recreational areas has been ordered, with increased deployment of both male and female personnel. The District Control Room in Abbottabad and Mansehra remains operational 24/7 to assist tourists visiting scenic spots, supported by the Galiyat Development Authority, Kaghan Development Authority, Traffic Police, and Tourism Police.
