Haripur administration steps up heatwave response, ensures availability of clean drinking Water

In response to the heatwave advisory issued by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the district administration of Haripur has intensified efforts to protect residents from the adverse effects of extreme temperatures

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) In response to the heatwave advisory issued by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the district administration of Haripur has intensified efforts to protect residents from the adverse effects of extreme temperatures.

Additional Assistant Commissioner-I visited various public places to review the availability of cool and clean drinking water for citizens. According to the administration, alternative arrangements were made at locations where permanent water supply facilities were not available to ensure uninterrupted access to drinking water.

During the visits, citizens were also informed about precautionary measures to protect themselves from the heatwave and avoid heat-related illnesses.

Residents were advised to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, and seek immediate medical attention in case of symptoms of heatstroke.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) has also ensured the provision of clean drinking water at key public locations across the district. The administration stated that alternative water supply arrangements have been put in place in areas lacking permanent water sources, while public awareness campaigns on heatwave safety and prevention continue throughout the district.
