HARIPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Haripur Islamuddin has imposed Section 144 across the district for one month, banning swimming, boating, bathing and unauthorized fishing in rivers, lakes, ponds, dams and other water bodies to safeguard public life and prevent drowning incidents during the monsoon season.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to an official notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the restrictions came into effect on June 29 and will remain in force for one month. The ban covers all rivers, lakes, ponds, dams and other water reservoirs within the district.
The district administration warned that anyone found violating the restrictions will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Authorities said the measure has been taken to protect public life and property and to avert any untoward incidents during the ongoing monsoon season.
