Hardened criminal injured in shootout with police in Attock

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) A notorious criminal, Sabir Mehmood, was arrested in injured condition after a shootout with police in Injra, Attock. Mehmood, wanted in multiple narcotics, robbery, and dacoity cases, was caught following a brief exchange of fire.

Police claimed Mehmood was injured by his own accomplices during the shootout. Senior officers rushed to the scene, and the suspect was shifted to a local hospital for treatment. Evidence was collected, and a case was registered.

According to polce spokesman, the police had intercepted Mehmood and another suspect, who opened fire, prompting a retaliation.

When the firing stopped, Mehmood was found injured, allegedly due to his accomplices' fire.

Mehmood is a hardened criminal with over 15 robbery, dacoity, and narcotics cases. Police are searching for his escaped accomplices, with teams working to trace them.

No policemen were injured in the shootout. The operation highlights the police's efforts to tackle crime in Attock.
