Hamid Khan group sweeps LHCBA elections

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) The Hamid Khan group secured a decisive victory in the elections of the Lahore High Court Bar Association , with its candidates clinching key offices, according to results announced on Saturday.

From the victorious group, Babar Murtaza Khan was elected President after securing 6,234 votes. His rival from the Ahsan Bhoon group, Raja Aamir Khan, polled 3,781 votes, leaving a margin of 2,453 votes.

For the office of Secretary, Qasim Ijaz Samra emerged victorious with 5,429 votes. Other contenders included Lehrasb Dhaar (1,880 votes), Rai Muhammad Ali Kharral (1,778 votes), and Sajjad Hussain Tarar (902 votes).

In the race for Vice President, Sohail Qaiser Tarar won with 4,160 votes. His opponents Sheikh Haseeb bin Yousaf (3,639 votes), Qamar Shahid Mew (1,634 votes), and Faisal Mehboob Malik (528 votes) were defeated.

For the post of Finance Secretary, Malik Ali Raza Kharkhar was elected after obtaining 2,068 votes among eight candidates. Notably, four women candidates also contested the position.

Polling began at 9:00 am, with lawyers casting their votes through a biometric system.
