Green electric bus service to be launched in Layyah on July, 15

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) The people of Layyah are set to benefit from a new green electric bus service, with its official launch scheduled for July 15 as part of the Punjab government's initiative to promote modern and environmentally friendly public transport.

According to a spokesperson for the district administration, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the Green Electric Bus Service virtually on Tuesday.

Layyah is among several districts that will be connected to the new transport network.

The officials said all arrangements for the launch ceremony had been completed at the Deputy Commissioner's Office .

The local political leaders and government representatives are expected to participate in the event via video link.

Following the virtual inauguration, the local authorities will formally commence the service with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The district administration said the Green Electric Bus Service is expected to provide the residents with safer, more comfortable and modern public transportation while supporting cleaner and more sustainable urban mobility.
