Green cantonment drive launched in Multan with tree plantation

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2026) Under the "Green Cantonment" campaign, a tree plantation drive was launched at various

entry points of Cantonment here on Tuesday during the monsoon season to promote a

cleaner and greener environment.

The plantation campaign was organized on the special directives of President Cantonment

Board Multan (CBM) Brigadier Saleem Younis and Executive Officer Sardar Atif Sultan.

Additional Executive Officer Asif Hayat, member CBM and district peace committee Dr. Ali,

district peace committee member Yaqoob Shera, president peace committee Multan cantonment

Abid Khan, Ejaz Karim, Garden superintendent Chaudhry Zaheer, sanitary incharge Habibullah

Babar, and others participated in the event.

The participants planted different species of saplings and reaffirmed their commitment

to making the Green Cantonment campaign a success.

Speaking on the occasion, the participants urged citizens to actively take part in tree plantation,

protect the saplings they plant, and contribute to making the environment greener and healthier.

They said, trees were a precious gift of nature and play a vital role in combating the adverse

effects of climate change, reducing air pollution, and ensuring a clean and healthy environment

for future generations.

The speakers emphasized that the monsoon season offers ideal conditions for plantation and

called upon every citizen to plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its proper care,

helping transform Multan cantonment into a greener, cleaner, and more environmental friendly area.
