Govt of Sindh imposes ban on flying drones for  period of 60 days

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) Government of Sindh has imposed a ban on flying drones for a period of 60 days across the province, including Shaheed Benazirabad district. According to Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, the Sindh Home Department has enforced an immediate ban on the outdoor operation of quad copters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), helicams, and drones due to security concerns. The restriction has come into effect immediately and will remain in place for sixty days.

Deputy Commissioner said that the decision was taken in light of directives issued by the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan, considering the current security situation, particularly developments along the country’s western borders.

The Sindh government has taken this step to prevent potential subversive activities and misuse of such devices by miscreants.

Under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, outdoor flying of drones and related equipment has been completely prohibited throughout Sindh. However, the ban does not apply to intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Strict action will be taken against violators. Station House Officers (SHOs) of concerned police stations have been directed to register cases under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code against those found violating the ban. Deputy Commissioner has urged public to cooperate with administration in ensuring compliance with the law and to refrain from any violations.
