ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Parliamentary Secretary, Maritime Affairs Dr. Darshan Punshi on Thursday informed the National Assembly that the government was actively monitoring reforms and development initiatives across various sectors through regular meetings and special task forces under the supervision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Responding to a question during the Question Hour, the parliamentary secretary said that around 256 meetings had been held over a period of time to review progress in different sectors, including information technology, privatization, railways and industry.
He said dedicated task forces had also been constituted to monitor implementation and ensure accountability of the concerned departments and institutions.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Dr. Darshan said the government’s economic team was working collectively to improve the country’s economic situation, adding that positive results of the ongoing reforms were becoming visible.
Replying to a supplementary question regarding the Federal board of Revenue (FBR), he said the tax collection system was being improved through reforms and better networking mechanisms.
He said regular follow-up meetings were being held while the relevant task forces were continuously overseeing the performance and implementation process.
The parliamentary secretary said the country’s economy had witnessed improvement due to the collective efforts of the government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
