The meeting was attended by officials and focal persons from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Information and Broadcasting, Information Technology and Telecom, education, National Heritage and Culture Division, Islamabad Police, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Cantonment board, and district administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, among others.

Special solidarity walks, public events and awareness programmes will be held across the federal capital, all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to express unwavering support for the people of Kashmir.

Addressing the meeting, Federal Secretary Kamran Rehman Khan said the observance of Youm-e-Istehsal would reaffirm Pakistan's steadfast support for the Kashmiri people's just struggle for their right to self-determination and send a strong message that the nation stands united with its Kashmiri brethren against Indian atrocities.

The meeting was told that India's actions of August 5, 2019, amounted to violations of the UN Charter, relevant UN Security Council resolutions and international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Officials said Youm-e-Istehsal serves as a reminder of India's unilateral actions in IIOJK and Pakistan's continued diplomatic, political and moral support for the Kashmiri people.
