Governor Sindh pays tribute to workers on Labor Day

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi said that the working class served as the backbone of the country's economic development and prosperity, and their contributions can never be forgotten.

Paying glowing tribute to the workers on the occasion of Labor Day on Friday, the Governor remarked that islam regarded the laborer as a friend of Allah and therefore, we must fully respect their hard work.

He further added that labor and hard work were traditions of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon them) and a source of blessings. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) emphasized the importance of paying workers their full wages promptly and fairly, he said.

Muhammad Nihal Hashmi clarified that protecting workers' rights and ensuring their welfare was the government's top priority. Providing workers with facilities related to health, education and social security is a fundamental responsibility of the state, he added.

The Governor of Sindh stated that the role of the working class was of critical importance in the industrial and economic development of Sindh. The International Labor Day reminds us to renew our commitment to stand in solidarity with workers and safeguarding their rights, he expressed.
