ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Friday visited the residence of martyred citizen Muhammad Liaqat Ali Shaheed in Mankor village, Tehsil Jand of Attock, who embraced martyrdom while foiling a suicide attack at Khushhal Garh Check Post.
During the visit, the governor offered Fateha for the departed soul and expressed condolences with the bereaved family. He was accompanied by local dignitaries, including Malik Amanat Khan Rawal, Syed Atif Shah Gilani, Malik Asghar, Asif Hayat, and Sardar Muhammad Ali, among others.
Speaking to the family, the governor announced that the provincial government would bear all educational expenses of the martyr’s son until the completion of his studies. He also assured efforts to regularize the employment of the martyr’s brother, who has been working on daily wages for the past 15 years.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Residents of the area demanded that the Khushhal Garh Check Post be renamed after the martyr. The governor said he would strongly recommend naming it “Liaqat Shaheed Check Post Mankor” in recognition of his sacrifice. He praised the martyr’s courage, saying his actions saved countless lives and thwarted terrorist designs.
Sardar Saleem Haider Khan further stated that Muhammad Liaqat Ali Shaheed had brought honor to Attock and that his sacrifice would be remembered as a symbol of bravery. He added that the process for awarding him the Tamgha-e-Shujaat had been initiated promptly, reflecting the nation’s respect for martyrs and their families.
