Governor Punjab condoles demise of 14 children

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2026) Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of 14 children due to the roof collapse of a tuition center in Kahna, Lahore.

In a condolence message here on Tuesday, he extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed that may Allah Almighty grant the deceased children a place in the realm of His mercy and give bereaved families courage to bear this loss with patience and fortitude.

The Governor also prayed for the speedy recovery of the children injured in this tragedy.

Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that he equally shares the grief of the bereaved families in this hour of sorrow and hardship. He said that the roof collapse in Kahna is a very tragic incident.

The Governor Punjab said that he is deeply shocked at the loss of lives of innocent children. He said that concrete steps are needed to be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

He further said that educational activities in poor and dilapidated buildings are tantamount to playing with the lives of children, adding that those responsible should be identified and brought to justice.
