ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday said the people of the province including tribal districts were playing an important role in the national economy, adding that the government would continue extending full support for facilitation of the business community, promotion of investment and economic stability.
He expressed these views while addressing a gathering of the Pashtun community here at Tarnol.
Tribal leader Malik Inayat Mehsud, former adviser to the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ajmal Khan Wazir, tribal political leader Kifayatullah and tribal elder Anwar Khan Suleman Khel also addressed the gathering.
A large number of prominent members of the Pashtun community from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the event.
Leaders of tribal organizations highlighted the problems and challenges being faced by Pashtun traders, tribal people and the business community.
Governor Kundi said the Pashtuns would have to work together for restoration of peace in the Pashtun belt.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>“It has always been my stance that no one from outside will come to establish peace in our region. We ourselves will have to unite for the future of our generations,” he said.
He appreciated the unity of the community and stressed the need for promoting an atmosphere of harmony and tolerance in Pakistan.
The Governor said problems should be resolved through dialogue instead of violence and efforts should be made to further strengthen the culture of negotiations.
Speaking on the occasion, former provincial adviser Ajmal Wazir emphasized the need for coordinated government measures to address the issues being faced by tribal districts and the Pashtun business community.
The tribal elders also thanked Governor Kundi for his cooperation, sympathy and positive role during a recent tragic incident and appreciated his efforts for resolution of the problems faced by tribal people.
