Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday held a meeting with senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, renowned physician and prominent political and social figure from Gilgit Baltistan, Dr Muhammad Sharif Astori, at the Governor House Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday held a meeting with senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, renowned physician and prominent political and social figure from Gilgit Baltistan, Dr Muhammad Sharif Astori, at the Governor House Islamabad.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the overall political situation of the country, issues being faced by the people of Gilgit Baltistan and other matters of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on political activities in Gilgit Baltistan and the role of PPP in the region.

Dr Muhammad Sharif Astori highlighted matters related to public welfare, health and development projects in Gilgit Baltistan.

He said that PPP was playing an active political role in the region for the resolution of public issues and the promotion of democratic values.

He also expressed his intention to seek the party ticket from Skardu Constituency-I, saying that if the party granted him the ticket on merit, he would further intensify his services to carry forward the mission of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that under the leadership of young Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the party had always struggled for the development and prosperity of people across all regions of the country, particularly those living in remote areas.

He also appreciated the role and contributions of the people of Gilgit Baltistan towards national unity.
