Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Confers Civil Awards on Distinguished Personalities at Investiture Ceremony

GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) A prestigious Investiture Ceremony was held at the Governor House Gilgit, where prominent personalities from various walks of life were honored with Pakistan Civil Awards following the approval of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by senior government and military officials, political and social figures, representatives of civil society, dignitaries, and family members of the award recipients.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Syed Mehdi Shah congratulated the awardees and said that these honors were a recognition of their national services, dedication, professional excellence, and valuable contributions to public welfare.

During the ceremony renowned educationist Dr. Mola Dad Shafa was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his outstanding services in the field of education, while noted Naat reciter Khwaja Ali Kazim received the Presidential Pride of Performance Award for his contributions to the arts.

Similarly, Ghulam Nabi was honored with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for services in education, Imranullah Hunzai for visual arts, Muhammad Amin Zia for literature and poetry, and Tasneem Zahra for social services.

The speakers at the ceremony termed the achievements of the award recipients a matter of pride for both Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan.

Governor Syed Mehdi Shah stated that these distinguished personalities were bringing honor to the region and the country through their talent and services, adding that such recognitions would also inspire the younger generation.

Special prayers were also offered at the conclusion of the ceremony for the peace, prosperity, and development of the country.
