Governor attends funeral of former senator Taj Afridi

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday attended the funeral prayers of former senator Taj Muhammad Afridi in Jamrud district, Khyber and offered Fateha for the departed soul.

The Governor prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased, his elevated ranks in Jannat, and strength and patience for the bereaved family to bear the loss.

On the occasion, Governor Kundi met the family members and relatives of the late former senator and expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy.

Paying tribute to Taj Muhammad Afridi, the Governor said he was a dignified political and social figure who rendered valuable services for the welfare of the people and the development of the country.

He said the late leader's political, social and national contributions would always be remembered, adding that the void created by his demise would be difficult to fill for a long time.

The Governor said the entire nation was mourning the loss of Taj Muhammad Afridi, whose passing was a great setback to the country's political and public spheres.
