ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) The Government of Pakistan has officially released the Ministry and Division-wise summary of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025–26, announcing a massive federal development allocation of Rs837.16 billion aimed at accelerating infrastructure growth, improving public services, and strengthening the national economy.
According to official figures issued on Sunday, the total authorized amount stands at Rs833.34 billion, while development expenditures recorded between July and April have already reached approximately Rs469.85 billion.
The PSDP 2025–26 places significant emphasis on water resources, highways, education, energy infrastructure, and regional development initiatives.
According to data,Water Resources among top Priorities and the Water Resources Division, emerged as one of the leading sectors in the federal development portfolio, receiving an allocation of Rs106.64 billion.
Expenditures during the July-April period stood at Rs66.91 billion.
Officials say the investment is intended to support water security projects, irrigation modernization, dams, and long-term climate resilience initiatives.
According to data, Provinces and Special areas receive largest allocation and secured the highest ministry-level allocation under the PSDP with Rs201.28 billion, while expenditures reached Rs117.60 billion.
The funding is expected to finance regional infrastructure projects, development schemes, and uplift programs in underdeveloped and strategically important areas across the country.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Among corporations, the “National Highway Authority (NHA)” received the largest share of funding with an allocation of Rs184.87 billion and expenditures of Rs84.41 billion.
The allocation reflects the government’s continued focus on highways, motorway expansion, transport corridors, and national connectivity projects.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) received an allocation of Rs34.91 billion, with expenditures reaching Rs24.15 billion.
Meanwhile, the Federal Education & Professional Training Division, secured Rs26.60 billion, while spending during the reporting period reached Rs19.18 billion.
The investments are expected to strengthen universities, digital education systems, institutional reforms, and professional training initiatives nationwide.
The Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO) was allocated, Rs75.14 billion, with expenditures recorded at Rs52.77 billion.
The government also continued development funding for petroleum and energy-related sectors to improve electricity transmission systems, energy reliability, and national infrastructure capacity.
The Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division, received Rs20.42 billion in allocation, while expenditures stood at Rs12.32 billion.
The division remains central to coordinating Pakistan’s long-term development planning and strategic economic initiatives.
