SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) has rejected allegations circulating on social media and in certain circles against the institute, its director, and medical and paramedical staff, calling them baseless and defamatory.
In a statement issued on Friday, GIMS spokesperson Jameel Hyder said the institute began operations in 2015 and now provides Primary, secondary and tertiary care in an underserved area of Sindh. The facility offers kidney, liver, bone marrow and cornea transplants, cochlear implants, stem cell and cellular therapy, and robotic surgery, either free of cost or at minimal expense, the spokesperson added.
The statement noted that GIMS initially engaged international experts from Germany, China and India to launch complex procedures. The current focus, it said, is on building local capacity, with doctors from Balochistan, Karachi, Peshawar and Punjab regularly visiting to train staff on-site.

Citing Sindh government notification No. 13(89)/OPS/2018/1374 dated June 18, 2019, the spokesperson warned that spreading false or defamatory complaints against public hospitals and their staff is a cognizable offence and that legal action would be taken against those involved.
“We appeal to the authorities and the public not to believe baseless propaganda,” the statement said. “GIMS Gambat exists solely to provide quality, accessible healthcare to the people of Sindh and Pakistan.”
The spokesperson added that the institute reserves the right to pursue legal action against defamation, blackmail or the spread of false information targeting the hospital and its staff.
