GCUF honours 363 researchers at Research Productivity Awards 2025

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) The Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) honoured its outstanding researchers at the Research Productivity Awards (RPA) 2025 ceremony, organised by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) to recognise faculty members for their high-impact research publications.

Addressing the ceremony, ORIC Director Dr. Tanvir Shahzad said that 363 faculty members had qualified for the awards under the university's annual research incentive program.

He said that cash awards amounting to Rs19 million along with certificates were distributed among the successful researchers.

He also highlighted ORIC's efforts in promoting research excellence through capacity-building workshops and training programs

Dr. Rauf-i-Azam congratulated the award recipients and urged faculty members to focus on innovation and the commercialization of research to maximize its impact on society and industry.

He said that 54 GCUF scientists had been included among the world's top two percent scientists, reflecting the university's growing research stature.

He said that the university had initiated faculty recruitment purely on merit to improve the student-teacher ratio and it was continuously upgrading academic and research facilities to provide faculty members and students with a conducive environment for teaching, learning and research.

Later, awards and certificates were also distributed among the distinguished researchers followed by a group photo of the award recipients, faculty members and university leadership.
