GCU Hyderabad completes merit-based lecturer recruitment test in various disciplines

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jul, 2026) The Government College University (GCU) Hyderabad has successfully conducted the first-ever centralized written examination in the university's history for the recruitment of Lecturers (BPS-17), ensuring transparency, merit and administrative autonomy.

Vacancies for Lecturers (BPS-17) were advertised in various academic disciplines including Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Computer Science, Commerce, Humanities and Social Sciences to further improve the teaching standards of the university's constituent college.

The statement said the recruitment drive received an overwhelming response from candidates across Sindh, with 1,434 eligible applicants submitting applications. Written examinations for all disciplines were conducted simultaneously.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan has said the recruitment process was being conducted transparently and strictly on merit in accordance with the prescribed policy.
