SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Government College of Technology for Women (GCTW) Sargodha and Taji Handicrafts on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the "Learn and Earn" program aimed at enhancing technical education and vocational skills for female students.
The agreement was signed by District Placement Officer Noman Malik and CEO of Taji Handicrafts Saira Rehman, in the presence of GCTW Principal Ammara Akram and Institute Placement Officer Maryam Farooq.
Under the agreement, students would receive practical training in handicrafts and other technical trades to foster economic independence and professional growth.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Ammara Akram emphasized that providing modern skills and practical training is a vital necessity of the current era, noting that the "Learn and Earn" initiative would play a crucial role in leading students toward financial self-reliance.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The CEO Taji Handicrafts Saira Rehman stated that Taji Handicrafts is the first industry of its kind to provide practical training under this program, aiming to equip girls with the expertise required for dignified employment.
The ceremony was also attended by Acting President of Women Chamber Sumaira Harira, Founding Vice President and member of SWCCI Tanzila Fiyaz, and executive members including Rubina Mukhtar, Dr. Humaira Azhar, and Shazia Arshad.
The participants expressed their commitment to continuing such programs to ensure women in the region have access to modern skills and better business opportunities for long-term economic empowerment.
