HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Mother tongue is the language in which you dream. languages teaches lesson of love.

These views were expressed by the Vice Chancellor of Government College University, Hyderabad Prof Dr Moazzam Khan in his presidential address in the seminar organized by the Sindhi section of the university on the theme of "Revival of local languages in a multilingual society" on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.

He further said that Sindh is my first love, I love Sindh, the people of Sindh and the language of Sindh. Hun language is the source of connecting people.

Renowned researcher Dr Muhammad Ali Manjhi said that Sindhi language is one of the ancient and great languages of the world.Everyone speaks their mother tongue with great love.

Sindhi language speakers do not hate any other language.Renowned writer and critic Dr Ishaq Sameji said that languages are either born or die, but the death of languages is not like the death of a person, but it is like the death of an heir. Currently, three languages are among the dying languages in Sindh, they need to be saved.

Dr Sher Mehrani, Chairman of Sindhi Language Authority, said that seven thousand languages are spoken in the world at present, but one language is dying every other month.

Mother tongue is the language of the heart. If you speak more than one language, you live more than one life.

Chairman of the Sindhi Department and renowned writer Dr Ehsan Danish said that a separate topic is given by UNESCO in connection with the International Mother Language Day and this year the topic that has been given, Asan has conducted a seminar on this topic and in this way Asan has tried to connect with the world.

Sindhi language starts running in our veins with mother's breast. In the seminar, the students of different departments of the university highlighted the importance of their own languages in their mother tongues.

Afshan Qureshi (Saraiki), Syeda Samana (Urdu), Akash (Dhatki), Sana Qanbarani (Sindhi), Shabir Brohi (Brahi), Mir Murtaza (Baluchi), Araaf (Hindko) and others are among such students and female students.

While Oshaq Ali Bharri presented poems in Sindhi and Umeer Ishtiaq in urdu. The program was conducted by university teachers Parvez Ali Baghio and Kainait Chandev.
