DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2026) Funeral prayers for two police personnel martyred in Monday's terrorist attack on a police armoured personnel carrier (APC) on the Wana Road were offered with full state honours here at Police Lines Tank.

The martyrs were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Faridullah Khan and Constable Akhtar Zaman, who embraced martyrdom when terrorists targeted the police vehicle earlier Monday.

The funeral was attended by District Police Officer (DPO) Tank Abdul Samad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Tank Jamshed Khan, SP Investigation Khalid Mehmood, SP CTD Iftikhar Shah, DSP Headquarters Shah Wali Khan, senior police and district administration officials, local elders, police personnel and a large number of relatives of the martyrs.

A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour, while senior officers laid floral wreaths on the coffins of the martyrs and paid tribute to their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks, patience for their bereaved families, and lasting peace, stability and prosperity across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Abdul Samad Khan said the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country's peace and security were the pride of the police force and the nation. He said their sacrifices would always be remembered and assured that Tank Police would continue to support the families of the martyrs in every possible way.
