Software President “Hidetaka Miyazaki” has assured fans that the Japanese game studio still has the freedom to create the games it wants.

His comments come after growing discussions about investor involvement in the parent company of “Kadokawa”.

The discussion started after investment company Oasis Management increased its share in Kadokawa to 13.76 percent. This makes Oasis the company largest shareholder, ahead of Sony, which owns 11.01 percent of the company.

The development led many fans to question whether investors could influence the future direction of From-Software and its upcoming games.

Oasis Management has praised From-Software for the success of popular game series such as Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Armored Core. At the same time, the investment firm has argued that Kadokawa is not making full use of the studio potential. The company has also called for changes in Kadokawa management in the past.

Speaking to Japanese gaming outlet Den-fami-nico gamer, Miyazaki said he was aware of reports about the situation between Oasis and Kadokawa. However, he explained that he could not comment on the matter in detail.

Miyazaki said the studio continues to enjoy creative freedom. He explained that developers can still make the types of games they want without heavy outside pressure. While he admitted there is always room for improvement, he stressed that maintaining a healthy working environment remains one of the company’s main priorities.

According to Miyazaki, the most important goal for both himself and From-Software is to protect that creative freedom and focus fully on game development. He said the studio wants to continue creating new experiences for players around the world.

He also encouraged fans to stay excited about future projects. Miyazaki said players should look forward to both announced and unannounced games currently in development. His comments were aimed at reassuring fans who may be worried about the impact of investor activity on the studio’s future.

The company is currently preparing several new releases. These include “Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2” and a new action game called “The Duskbloods”. Both projects are expected to attract strong interest from fans.

Meanwhile, many players continue to speculate about what comes next after the huge success of Elden Ring. The game has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and remains one of From-Software most successful titles.

Although Miyazaki has previously said that Elden Ring 2 is not currently in development, he has not completely ruled out the possibility of a sequel in the future. As a result, fans continue to hope that the popular franchise could return one day.
