LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resources Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt said that Punjab Social Security Institution has launched a comprehensive heart disease screening programme for 51,000 children studying in Workers Welfare Schools across the province.

In a statement on Monday, he said that the initiative has formally started, and on the first day, 300 children were screened. He added that the programme reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to preventive healthcare and early diagnosis for the children of industrial workers.

The minister said that children diagnosed with any heart-related ailment during the screening will be provided immediate treatment and will have access to free healthcare facilities under the Punjab Social Security network.

He emphasized that no child will be deprived of timely medical care due to financial constraints.

Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt further stated that the government is focusing on strengthening health facilities for workers and their families through structured social protection programmes. He said that the initiative is part of broader efforts to improve healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

He also appreciated the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, saying that she is taking historic and people-friendly measures for the welfare of workers and their families, with special focus on health, education and social security reforms across the province.
