Free electric tricycles distributed to special persons

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A special ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Bahawalpur under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, under the auspices of Social Welfare Department, where free electric tricycles were distributed among persons with disabilities.

The event was attended by Divisional Director Social Welfare Ishtiaq Ahmed, Deputy Director Muhammad Uzair, Assistant Director Tanzeela Rani, Rizwan Ullah, other officials, and many special persons.

Addressing the ceremony, Syed Hassan Raza said that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, practical steps are being taken to enable persons with disabilities to become dignified and self-reliant citizens. He noted that the free distribution of electric tricycles is a key initiative aimed at improving mobility and fostering independence.

During the ceremony, five deserving individuals received electric tricycles free of cost.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that fulfilling the basic needs of persons with disabilities is a top priority of the Punjab government, and every possible effort is being made to enhance their quality of life.

He termed the initiative a commendable step towards the welfare of special persons, adding that these tricycles would serve as a new source of hope and empowerment for the beneficiaries. At the conclusion of the event, the recipients expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and the district administration, appreciating the initiative as a meaningful step toward their independence and well-being.
