Four shopkeepers netted for overcharging

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 23rd Feb, 2026) A special raiding team led by Assistant Commissioner, Mirpur, Mian Hussam Sajid on Monday arrested four shopkeepers in the vegetable market, including two butchers for charging self-imposed prices of the commodities from the consumers during price control checking and also imposed fines on several illegal profiteers.

The official sources said the assistant commissioner inspected butcher shops in Old Hattian shopping center on public complaints and imposed cash fines on meat sellers for not displaying the rate lists.

The raiding party arrested two butchers who were selling meat at an excessive price against the officially fixed rates.

In the wake of another immediate action against the unlawful profiteering, on complaints in the vegetable fruit market the team imposed fines by arresting four shop keepers.
