MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) The Wildlife Rangers in Muzaffargarh have apprehended four poachers during operations in and around Game Sanctuary Rakh Khanpur, imposing fines Rs 120,000 for illegal hunting during the breeding season.

According to officials, a team led by Inspector Tahir Khan arrested suspects identified as Subhan, Muzammil, Ghulam Murtaza, and Shoaib, who had arrived from Dera Ghazi Khan. They were caught capturing partridge chicks and hunting protected birds.

Shoaib was specifically found using an imported air gun with a scope to hunt doves and other birds. He was fined Rs50,000, and his weapon was confiscated. Meanwhile, those involved in capturing partridge chicks were collectively fined Rs70,000.

Speaking to journalists, Inspector Tahir Khan said the crackdown was being carried out under the directives of Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Abdul Rehman Liaquat, emphasizing strict vigilance against illegal hunting during the breeding season.
