Four held involved in hawala,copyright violations

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency on Wednesday arrested four accused allegedly involved in hawala hundi operations and violations of the Copyright Act during separate raids conducted by the FIA Corporate Crime Circle Lahore.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the accused were arrested during different raid operations carried out in various areas of Lahore.

The spokesperson said that accused Qasim Yar Akbar was found involved in hawala hundi and illegal Currency exchange business.

FIA recovered Rs.6.5 million in cash from his possession along with documentary and digital evidence related to hawala transactions.

In separate operations,accused Tariq Aftab,Muhammad Kamran and Shiraz Waseem were arrested for their alleged involvement in violations of the Copyright Act.

The spokesperson said that a large quantity of counterfeit products of well-known registered companies was recovered from the accused.

The suspects were allegedly involved in stocking and selling fake products of registered companies.

Further investigation into the cases was underway,the spokesperson added.
