Foreign national held for illegal wildlife hunting in Islamabad’s E-7 forest

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) on Tuesday arrested a foreign national for allegedly using snare traps to hunt wildlife in the E-7 forest area during an operation launched against illegal hunting activities in the Federal capital.

According to IWMB spokesperson, the board initiated a search operation five days ago following reports of illegal killing and capturing of wildlife in different parts of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

During the crackdown, the IWMB team apprehended the suspect in the E-7 forest area while allegedly using snare traps to capture and kill wild animals.

The accused was subsequently handed over to police, while a case was registered at Kohsar Police Station in F-7 under the Nature Act 2024.

Officials said legal proceedings against the suspect were under way, adding that the operation formed part of broader efforts to curb illegal wildlife trade and protect Islamabad’s natural habitats.
