GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) On the directions of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Rizwan Saeed, a special inspection campaign was conducted across the district to check food quality and hygiene standards.
According to PFA sources, 88 inspections were carried out during the campaign, while 48 improvement notices were issued over violations of food safety regulations.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The authority also imposed fines on seven food businesses amounting to Rs 99,000.
During the inspections, 10.825 kilograms of expired, prohibited and spoiled food items were discarded.
Officials said inspection activities would continue to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public, adding that strict legal action would be taken against violators.
