Food exporters delegation off to Jeddah

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) South Punjab food exporters' delegation led by Saif Ur Rehman, Coordinator to Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), Sunday left for Jeddah on a two-week strategic visit aimed at exploring new avenues of foreign investment, collaboration, and joint ventures with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Talking to reporters prior to his departure here, he said, "We will hold meetings with leading Saudi importers, investors, chamber representatives, and business leaders to promote Pakistani food products and attract investment into modern food processing and cold chain infrastructure in South Punjab. We will also explore prospects for establishing joint ventures in packaging, branding and distribution networks to increase Pakistan’s share in the Saudi food market.

Saif Ur Rehman hoped the visit would yield tangible results and open new doors for sustainable export growth and long-term economic cooperation.

He said, the visit reflects growing economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and offers a timely opportunity to enhance bilateral trade. He emphasized that South Punjab has immense potential in agriculture and food processing including snacks which can be unlocked through strategic partnerships and technology transfer.
