DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Mar, 2026) On the directives of the district administration, a team of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority led by Assistant Director Dr. Wasif Khan conducted inspections in various markets of the city in collaboration with the Livestock Department.
According to official sources, inspection teams visited milk shops and bakeries in Sheikh Yousaf Adda, Chashma Road and Topanwala Bazaar. During the checking process, cases of water adulteration in milk and poor hygiene conditions at several outlets were detected.
Heavy fines were imposed on the violators in accordance with relevant food safety regulations.
The team also inspected fast food points where the quality of cooking oil was examined through a modern mobile laboratory. Notices were issued on the spot to those found using substandard oil.
Officials said the Food Authority remains vigilant to ensure the provision of safe, hygienic and quality food items to the public and that such inspection drives would continue across the district.
