GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) A second flood preparedness drill was conducted by Rescue 1122 at Saroki to check readiness for possible monsoon rains and flooding.
The district administration and other departments also took part in the exercise. Deputy Commissioner Nourul Ain Qureshi visited the site and reviewed rescue work, emergency response and relief arrangements during the drill.
Officers from Health, Livestock, Irrigation, WASA and other departments were present, along with emergency staff. The drill included rescue operations, evacuation of people, first aid, safe transfer of affected people and setting up of relief camps.

She appreciated the role of women volunteers and said their participation showed strong commitment and public service spirit. She said all departments had performed well during last year’s rains and urban flooding through better coordination. She directed officials to continue preparations with the same spirit so that quick response can be ensured in any emergency situation.
The administration said all teams are ready to protect lives and property of citizens.
