Five warehouses sealed in over hoarding of rice, sugar

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The district administration has sealed dive warehouses and imposed fines amounting Rs 51,000 during extensive price control operations across the city.

Acting on directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Assistant Commissioner Dera Syed Muhammad Arslan, carried out extensive price control operations across the city.

During surprise raids in Ghalla Mandi, Mohallah Alam Sher, and Tijarat Ganj, authorities uncovered large-scale hoarding of rice and sugar along with instances of misreporting of stock. Following the discovery of violations, five warehouses were sealed and legal proceedings were initiated against the individuals involved.

In a separate inspection drive along Northern Circular Road, several shops were checked for compliance with price regulations. Multiple violations were identified, leading to collective fines of Rs51,000.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to taking strict legal action against hoarders, profiteers, and those exploiting consumers.

The officials stated that indiscriminate enforcement actions will continue to ensure price stability and provide maximum relief to citizens.
