ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Punjab Police claimed to have arrested a five-member cattle theft gang during a timely operation by Saddar Attock Police and recovered stolen livestock worth around Rs4 million, officials said on Monday.

According to police sources, the operation was launched after information about a cattle theft incident in the village of Shakardara was received through the Police Emergency Helpline 15 on May 7. Acting swiftly, police teams established checkpoints at different locations to trace the suspects.

During checking near the Faqirabad area, police intercepted a suspicious vehicle and arrested three suspects allegedly transporting the stolen animals.

Using modern investigative methods and follow-up raids, police later arrested the remaining members of the gang, including the alleged ringleader Amir Iqbal.

The arrested suspects were identified as Rizwan, son of Fazal Khan; Muhammad Suleman, son of Muhammad Nazir; Zeeshan alias Shani, son of Sajid Mahmood; Amir Iqbal, son of Muhammad Iqbal; and Barkat Ali, son of Chiragh Din. Police said stolen livestock worth approximately Rs4 million was recovered from the accused.

Further investigation was underway and the suspects would be produced before court with what police described as strong evidence.
