Five cases registered for child labour violations in Attock as administration vows zero tolerance

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Authorities in Attock have intensified the crackdown against child labour, registering five criminal cases against employers found violating child labour laws during the past month. The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against child labour, bonded labour and workplace safety violations.

The progress was reviewed at the monthly meeting of the District Vigilance Committee (DVC), chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Aneel Saeed at the Deputy Commissioner's Office on Thursday. The meeting assessed ongoing enforcement measures and discussed strategies to strengthen compliance with labour laws across the district.

Briefing the committee, Assistant Director Labour and Human Resource Adnan Saleem informed participants that five First Information Reports (FIRs) had been registered against the owners of five establishments for employing child labour in violation of the law. He added that regular inspections of industrial and commercial establishments were continuing to ensure strict implementation of labour laws, particularly those relating to workers' health, occupational safety and overall labour welfare.

The committee also reviewed the enforcement of occupational health and safety regulations, measures to prevent workplace accidents in industrial and commercial units, registration of workers with the Social Security Department, and other labour welfare initiatives aimed at safeguarding workers' rights.Addressing the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Aneel Saeed directed the Labour and Human Resource Department to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards violations of child labour, bonded labour and occupational health and safety laws.

He stressed that protecting the health, safety and welfare of workers remained the administration's top priority and warned that strict legal action would continue against individuals and establishments found violating labour regulations.
