Fiscal budget 2026-27 focused on public Relief: Shahjehan Yousaf

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Parliamentary Leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf, has termed the Federal Budget 2026-27 a balanced and people-friendly budget, stating that it reflects the government's commitment to providing relief to the masses.

Talking to APP, he said that Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb presented the budget in accordance with the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, keeping in view the economic challenges and public welfare. He noted that no new taxes have been imposed on low-income groups or small industries, which would help protect vulnerable segments of society from additional financial burden.

Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf said that the government had announced a 7 percent increase in the basic salaries of government employees and pensioners, providing much-needed relief amid rising living costs. He added that the budget had been formulated after taking into account the needs of salaried individuals, labourers, and various sectors of the economy.

The PML-N leader maintained that the coalition government firmly believes in public service and that providing relief to the common citizen remains its foremost priority. He expressed confidence that the measures announced in the budget would contribute to economic stability and support sustainable growth.

He further stated that the government would welcome budget proposals from its coalition partners and positively consider constructive recommendations from opposition parties during the parliamentary debate process. He emphasized that collective efforts and consensus-building were essential for addressing economic challenges and ensuring the country's progress.

Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf reiterated that the federal government was committed to pursuing policies aimed at strengthening the economy, creating opportunities for businesses, and improving the living standards of ordinary citizens.
