First procession of Youm-e-Ashura concluded

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) The first procession of Youm-e-Ashura was taken out from Imambargah Syed Ali Shah Rizvi concluded at Imambargah Agha Mustafa Shah amid strict security measures.

Stringent security measures were taken to ensure the safety of procession that passed through traditional routes and ended at designated point. Personnel from the Bomb Disposal Squad were deployed while the procession was monitored through drone cameras.

To beat intense heat, arrangements were made to facilitate mourners at various points along the route. Special emergency response teams from Rescue 1122 remained on standby throughout the procession and staff of the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) performed sanitation and cleaning duties along the route.

Meanwhile, mobile phone services remained partially suspended in parts of Peshawar as a precautionary security measure during the Ashura procession.
