RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) An important meeting was held on Monday to review the performance of the first day of the ongoing special anti-polio drive in the district.
The meeting was co-chaired by Punjab Focal Person for Polio, Uzma Kardar and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Rahman Khan, and attended by the Chief Executive Officer Health along with officials of relevant departments.
A detailed review of field activities, team performance, administration of polio drops and challenges faced during the first day was conducted. Officials were directed to ensure that every child is reached and no area is overlooked during the campaign.
Briefings were also given on the performance of various union councils, team attendance, monitoring mechanisms, planning and security arrangements.
Health authorities informed the meeting that teams were conducting door-to-door visits to administer polio drops to children under five years of age, while awareness campaigns were also being carried out to educate parents.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Speaking on the occasion, Uzma Kardar stressed that government institutions, parents and all segments of society must play their collective role in eradicating polio. She reiterated that the Punjab government remained committed to protecting every child and would continue the campaign with full vigour.
Abdul Rahman Khan said that the district administration was closely monitoring the campaign and had directed all teams to achieve assigned targets. He emphasised that coordinated efforts were essential to make Pakistan polio-free.
The meeting underscored the need for immediate identification and vaccination of missed children, with officials vowing to utilise all available resources to ensure the success of the campaign.
