Fireworks supplier arrested, huge cache of explosive material seized

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The police arrested a supplier of fireworks material and recovered a huge quantity of explosive items during a crackdown launched against illegal transportation and supply of hazardous material in the city.

Police spokesman said on Monday that a team of Jhang Bazaar police conducted a successful operation and seized a large consignment of fireworks material during the raid.

He said that Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Afzal led the operation and arrested the accused identified as Misri Khan, who was allegedly involved in the secret supply and transportation of dangerous and combustible fireworks material for wedding ceremonies and other events.

During operation, the police recovered 37 cartons containing fireworks and explosive material from the possession of the accused.

He said that strict legal action had been initiated against the arrested suspect while raids were being conducted to trace and arrest other facilitators and members of the network involved in the illegal business.
