KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) A fire erupted at a commercial cloth dyeing factory in SITE area on Thursday, prompting a swift response from police, fire brigade, Rescue 1122 and Sindh Rangers personnel, officials said.

According to police officials, the blaze broke out at a factory located near Banoria Road in the Sher Shah SITE industrial area. Police, rescue teams and multiple fire tenders reached the scene shortly after the incident was reported and initiated firefighting operations.

A police spokesperson said no casualties or injuries had been reported so far, adding that efforts were under way to extinguish the fire completely while the cause of the incident would be determined after an investigation.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon directed senior police officials to reach the site immediately and ensure safety measures in surrounding areas.

Authorities were also instructed to keep access routes clear to facilitate the timely movement of fire brigade and rescue vehicles.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Pakistan Rangers Sindh said Rangers personnel were deployed promptly in view of the intensity of the fire. Rangers officials assisted firefighting and rescue teams and established a security cordon around the affected building to maintain traffic flow and ensure public safety.

The spokesperson added that protecting human lives and preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures remained the top priority.

Firefighting efforts were continuing till the filing of this report.
