KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) The Karachi administration has decided to register FIRs against those responsible for illegal cattle markets.It was decided in a meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi at his office on Saturday.
The meeting reviewed the efforts and actions of Deputy Commissioners regarding the removal of illegal, unplanned cattle markets, in view of citizen complaints about cattle markets.
The meeting was attended by all Deputy Commissioners, Additional Commissioner I Ghulam Mehdi Shah, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Rabia Syed, and Assistant Commissioner General Waqas Abbasi. While all Assistant Commissioners attended via video link.
According to a press release issued by the Commissioner’s Office,the Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners briefed the meeting on their efforts to prevent and remove illegal and unplanned cattle markets.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>They said that they are conducting operations daily in their respective areas with police assistance. However, small groups of cattle sellers repeatedly return and occupy roadside areas to sell cattle. The meeting was informed that, in total, action was taken against 21 cattle markets and they have been removed in the city.
The Commissioner said that unauthorized and unplanned cattle markets are disrupting sanitation and the traffic system, and immediate measures are needed to remove them. The meeting decided that FIRs will be registered against those responsible for illegal cattle markets.
The Commissioner directed the Town Municipal Administrations and relevant departments, including police and traffic police, to cooperate with the administration in efforts to remove unauthorized markets.
