FIA handcuffs travel agent in Rs2.35m Czech visa fraud

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad has arrested a travel agent accused of defrauding a citizen of Rs2.35 million by promising to arrange employment and travel to the Czech Republic.

An official told APP on Friday that the suspect was arrested in connection with Case No. 131/25 registered under Sections 17, 18/22 of the Emigration Ordinance, 1979, read with Sections 420, 468, and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The official said the accused had fraudulently obtained Rs2.

35 million from the complainant on the pretext of sending him to the Czech Republic for employment, but failed to fulfill the promise.

According to the official, the suspect was taken into custody during a raid conducted by an FIA team led by Inspector Muhammad Azeem, assisted by FC Inzamam-ul-Haq.

The official said further investigation was underway to determine whether the accused was involved in other immigration fraud cases or had additional accomplices.
