FESCO to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Muharram

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has finalized all necessary arrangements to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the FESCO region during Muharram-ul-Haram and Ashura.

FESCO spokesman said here on Monday that Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO Engr. Muhammad Aamer has established a Regional Control Center at FESCO Headquarters while emergency response centers have been set up in all six operational circles of the company. FESCO officers and technical staff have been assigned duties to monitor and address any power-related issues immediately.

Chief Engineer Operations Muhammad Munawar Khan would directly supervise all activities from the Central Control Room established at FESCO Headquarters to ensure continuous power supply during Muharram.

FESCO vehicles equipped with the required tools, equipment and technical personnel will remain stationed at locations of Tazia processions, Zuljanah processions, mourning processions, and religious gatherings (Majalis), he added.

Meanwhile, FESCO Chief Engr. Muhammad Aamer said that in compliance with the clear directives of the Federal Minister for Energy special maintenance and repair work has been carried out on transmission lines and other electrical installations in sensitive areas.

He said that emergency response teams would remain on high alert on the 9th and 10th of Muharram while senior FESCO officials would maintain close coordination with district administrations and event organizers.

He said that with the support of district administrations across the eight districts of the FESCO region routes of Imam Bargahs, Zuljanah processions and Tazia processions have been re-evaluated. Necessary improvements have been made to the overhead cable system along these routes to facilitate mourners and prevent any disruption to law & order arrangements, he added.

The CEO directed all Superintending Engineers (SEs) Executive Engineers (XENs) and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) of FESCO operational circles to remain on alert at their respective offices throughout Muharram. He emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply and providing an immediate response to any complaint so that mourners do not face any inconvenience.

Engr. Muhammad Aamer advised the participants not to touch FESCO installations, including electricity poles and wires, during processions.
