FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Chief Engineer Transmission and Grid (T&G) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Engineer Faisal Raza Marth on Thursday said that all necessary technical and administrative measures had been completed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the consumers during upcoming summer season.
Addressing a special meeting held at GSO Circle, he said that FESCO had finalized various projects including capacity enhancement of grid stations, improvement of transmission lines and comprehensive inspection of equipment to strengthen power distribution system before the peak demand period.
He said that on special directives of FESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Muhammad Aamir, the capacity of ten 132-KV grid stations across FESCO region had been enhanced in view of the expected increase in electricity demand during summer. These grid stations included 132-KV Fazil, 132-KV Kot Momin, 132-KV Bandala, 132-KV Khanuana, 132-KV Adda Gojra, 132-KV Steam Power Station, 132-KV SCARP Colony, 132-KV Shorkot Road, 132-KV Kalurkot New and 132-KV Bhamb. He said that the upgradation of these grid stations would significantly improve the system’s electricity distribution capacity and help manage load more efficiently during peak summer demand, ensuring better service delivery to consumers.
The chief engineer further said that installation and improvement of incoming and outgoing transmission lines at various grid stations had also been completed to make power transmission network more robust and reliable.
He said that comprehensive overhauling of power transformers installed at FESCO grid stations had been carried out while C&DF testing and oil testing had also been completed successfully. The contact resistance testing, purity testing and oil testing of high-tension circuit breakers were conducted to identify and eliminate any potential technical faults before the onset of heavy load conditions, he added.
He said that capacitors with a total capacity of 31.5 MVA had been installed at different grid stations to address voltage fluctuation issues and improve voltage profiles across the network. Capacitors of 7.2 MVA each were installed at Kot Momin, Chak No.430-JB, Chiniot Road and Kalurkot New grid stations while capacitors with a capacity of 2.4 MVA were installed at Bandala grid station.
Engineer Faisal Raza Marth said that technical teams of GSO Circle were fully prepared to tackle the anticipated rise in electricity demand during summer and advance planning had been completed to deal with any emergency situation.
FESCO was utilizing all available resources to ensure stable, safe and quality electricity supply to the consumers across the region, he added.
Superintending Engineer (GSO) Zubda Zia, XEN Ejazullah, XEN Altaf Kashif, XEN Muhammad Ramzan and XEN Nasrullah were also present on the occasion.
